Vincenzo Cacace

Vincenzo Cacace was born in Nusco (Av) in 1949, lives and works in San Nicola la Strada (Ce). Graduated from the Art Institute of Torre del Greco (Na) and later from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, he was a pupil of Bresciani, Brancaccio and Barisani. He has participated in the Italian artistic life since 1964. In 1967 he won the 1st Prize at the Sacred and Biblical Exhibit - Torre del Greco (Na).

In 1969 he founded “Nucleo 5”, a group of operators for informal research whose experiences embraced natural and gestural aesthetic phenomena.

In the following years he tends to recover the figurative and the social message. In 1975 he founded the “Introspection” Group in Ercolano (Na), entering the cultural and artistic climate of the city by setting up collective and personal exhibitions. Again in 1976 the need to affect the awareness of reality more deeply and produces a series of social interventions, using the street, the square and the participation of citizens as an operational space. In 1977 he carried out the final operation of this cycle «the Node for memory» at the “La Roggia” Modern Art Gallery in Pordenone.
