Renzo Crociara

Renzo Crociara was born in Codigoro (Ferrara) on February 4, 1950. At a very young age he devoted himself to painting starting from a figurative with an intimate background and then moving on to an exasperated realism.
At the end of the seventies he tackled large-format canvases, almost exclusively self-portraits, and with these works he held a solo show in Ferrara. In the meantime he travels to France, Spain and the United States. Meanwhile, his painting is changing with a return to a classical figurative. The themes are not random: interiors, beds, shirts, everyday objects. From 2005 is the volume published by Mondadori "Renzo Crociara: 1975/2005" which contains the entire artistic path of this important painter with a critical text by Vittorio Sgarbi, which concludes by writing: "... The process of internalization of reality is now completely accomplished, in parallel with his maturation as a man and as an artist from Crociara. How far away is that youthful production, albeit highly appreciable, when the impact with reality was still frontal, instinctive, without mediations. Now everything has changed in the Crociara: his still lifes, his landscapes have become places of the soul, mysterious and solitary, capable of fascinating us, of striking us in the depths of our hearts ".
