Mario Piergiovanni

Mario Piergiovanni, was an eclectic artist, holder of the chair of Sculpture at state high schools. He was the winner of national competitions for the design and construction of important public monuments. Piergiovanni's works on display at the Vatican, the Bundestag in Berlin, the University of Bari, the Farnesina in Rome and the Mikawa fondation in Tokyo are included.

«Art - wrote Piergiovanni - comes after a very slow, patient inner enrichment due to the frequentation of great spirits, to familiarity with great subjects. Art is something that "..." goes straight to the soul of things and allows us to participate with a more conscious mind in the reality of the time we live ».

Alongside sculpture (on wood, stone and bronze), he loved to paint and completed his artistic vocation by writing poems and theatrical texts.
