Luigi Falai

Florentine, born in 1941, Luigi Falai approaches painting at a very young age in the studio of the artist Adolfo Tagliaferri. After having attended the "Free School of the Nude" at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, in 1967 he is next to the master Pietro Annigoni, whose work he assiduously follows in the studio. Later, he learns the techniques of tempera grassa, fresco and fresco tear thanks to the teachings of Romano Stefanelli.

It is certainly the sacred that represents his favorite and most recurring theme, without forgetting the landscapes, still lifes and the highly original masks that he also signs.

Among his most important creations, the Via Crucis painted in the church of Santa Maria in Cervaro (Frosinone), the "Sacraments" in the church of Sant'Anna di Pietrelcina (Benevento) and the two large frescoes taken from the New Testament "The Kiss of Judas" and “The delivery of the keys to Peter” in the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo in Ponte Buggianese (Pistoia).

Pietro Annigoni, Giuseppe Catania, Paolo Levi, Tommaso Paloscia, Domenico Viggiano, among others, wrote about him and his work.
