Giuseppe Giorgi

Giuseppe Giorgi was born in 1950 in Borbona, a small Apennine town in the Rieti area; in '54 his family moved to Rome, where he has lived and worked ever since, while maintaining a close link with his places of origin.

As regards the spatial and constructive sense, the five years (1969 - 1974) of architectural studies will be decisive. In Rome, together with other artists of the group “Il Collettivo”, he exhibited works in various galleries (1969) that deal with the social and political problem that was developing in those years. One of his works received one of the prizes of the city of Monterotondo (1970) and became part of the collections of the Pinacoteca; the jury includes, among others, Carlo Levi who compliments the young man for the content and rigor of the works presented.

A study trip to Paris was decisive in 1979, where he admired the works of the great Impressionist masters: the 'Homage to Monet', 'Ninfee' and 'Riflessi sull'acqua' were born.
