Antonio Zatta

Venetian chalcographer, typographer and bookseller, Antonio Zatta is considered one of the major publishing expressions of the eighteenth century. His publications are enriched by engravings, finalini and cartoons made by artists for the majority of the Venetian school, such as Tiepolo, Sebastiano and Marco Ricci, and by the Scuola dell'Accademia di San Luca in Rome. The Works of Dante could not escape his attention, which he published in five volumes between 1757 and 1758, edition edited by Cristoforo Zapata de Cisneros, with 114 engravings. The first three volumes contain the Divine Comedy according to the lectio of the Accademia della Crusca; the fourth volume, divided into two volumes, contains Prose, and lyrical rhymes published and unpublished by Dante Alighieri, with copious and erudite additions.
