The gallery

The Michelangelo art center is an art gallery located in the center of Trani and is considered one of the most important cultural spaces in the region.

Thanks to its founder, Michele Ladogana, the gallery boasts the passage and friendship of internationally renowned artists: Pietro Annigoni, Renzo Vespignani, Franco Gentilini, Renato Guttuso, Robert Carrol, Riccardo Tommasi Ferroni, Walter Piacesi, Massimo Rao, Angelo Canevari and many others.

The passion for engraving meant that the collection was enriched with the works of the masters of the sign. Among them stand out: Durer, Raimondi, Rembrand, Della Bella, Callot, Rosa, Tiepolo, Piranesi, Goya, Manet, Tolouse Lautrec, De Nittis, Picasso, Mirò and Chagall.

Michele Ladogana left us in 2009. He is responsible for two books dedicated to the story of his beloved Trani, one on the speeches of Giovanni Bovio and the other on Barletta. In 2010, on the occasion of the birth of the Municipal Art Gallery, the Ladogana family donated part of its private collection, accessible by all visitors in the rooms dedicated to the founder of the gallery.

Today the gallery is managed by the Ladogana family who continue the craft of love for art in the oldest gallery in Trani.
